This one tops our charts

TRAVEL PASSION INC. has made me a passionate traveler. I disliked traveling because is disliked chaos and cancelations but when I got introduced to Travel Passion Inc., a unique and personalized travel agency, they changed my perceptions of traveling. Now I hand over all the organizing details to them and they have never failed me. I am not talking simply of one or two travel plans. They have been my agents for close to ten years and they have handled my groups of up to 34 people and I have never had an excuse to be unhappy or to complain. It is a travel agency with passionate zeal and, though small, they give you service that leave you with a smile. Love Appa

A Dream Fulfilled

Travel Passion, our Indian travel company, has for a second year created a wonderful itinerary for my husband and me over the Christmas/New Year's holiday.  This year we focused on Indian art and culture. Travel Passionprovided us with experienced drivers and knowledgeable guides at each of our stops.

We started out with two days in New Delhi at the majestic Imperial Hotel created under the Raj in 1911. The food served in the several different restaurants is delicious.  Travel Passion provided us with a driver and guide who introduced us to the many important Delhi sites.  Our guide Suez was extremely well informed about the extraordinary ancient bronzes, jewelry and other artifacts housed in the National Museum. Before we left for ournext destination I participated in an art tour of the Imperial Hotel which has a wonderful selection of murals, paintings and old prints.

Moving on we flew to Udaipur to the beautiful Trident Hotel. Once again we were in the hands of a highly competent driver Mr. Singh and guide Sunil for the next several days. We visited the beautiful Udaipur City Palace and were enchanted by the Crystal furniture from Birmingham, England as well as other treasures displayed in the Palace.  The Trident Hotel is a very comfortable place with excellent food and a beautiful view of the nearby lake. Our guide shared his intimate knowledge of the Hindu religion which was helpful in understanding the images and stories contained in the Calico Museum textiles.

From Udaipur our driver and guide drove us to Dungarpur, a remote village with the beautiful Udaipur Bilas Palace Hotel. The Palace grounds overlook a beautiful lake with a Temple. The nearby Juan Mahal is an earlier Palace with exquisite 13th-century mural paintings also belonging to the Bilas family.

From Dungapur our driver Mr. Roop Singh drove us to Ahmedabad a 3-hour drive.  In Ahmedabad we resided at the House of MG, a magnificent hotel with lovely antique textiles in the rooms.  Our Ahmedabad guide Bheru was always able to respond to our questions about the history of Ahmedabad. The visit highlight was the three-hour tour of the Calico Textile Museum.  This is no doubt the finest collection of early textiles from all regions of India.

The museum guide was very well informed of the history of the textiles and was also able to bring a spiritual dimension to her presentation. Later we visited the very moving Gandhi Ashram and the Gandhi Paper Mill.

Lastly, we visited the Le Corbusier building commissioned in 1954 by the Ahmedabad Mill Workers Union. It is a marvel of environmentally sensitive architecture.

From Ahmedabad we flew back to New Delhi where we returned to the Imperial Hotel.

We were welcomed back by both principals of Travel Passion, Sarfaraz Udin and Juniper Manchanda. On January 3 we will return to our home in Washington DC.

What a wonderful holiday vacation!

Rajasthan and Taj Mahal for the first time

Hiya Juniper and Sarfaraz...

We are home safe and sound...please know that our trip was absolutely FANTASTIC...I don't think we could have experienced a better tour. The coordination and organization of each place on the itinerary was exemplary. My feedback was only to give you the opportunity to make some changes for future dealings with the Udaipur Hotel (Udai Kothi) and the Kashmir guide. I planned to provide a more detailed summary of each hotel/service/guide/etc...but honestly every place we visited was better than the previous one.

A short summary of exceptional service/property/food/guide:

Jaipur - incredible Diwali celebrations. Delightful property. Guide was ok - he kept giving me advice re tips so I had to be firm with him. For example - he wanted me to tip the jeep driver for driving us from the fort - 5 mins drive. Not a big deal for me but something you would need to be aware of.

Jodhpur - another great property - guide there was exceptional - very informative.

Agra - thank you for suggesting the Marriott - another lovely property. Service and quality of food was outstanding. Our Travel Guide was terrific too.

Tiger Den Resort - great location and property along with wonderful staff- food was amazing at this place. We were delighted to see the elusive tiger...and other animals in the park.

Taj in Srinagar is not only an outstanding property but all their staff were very gracious and their overall service was impeccable. They even provided us with lunch for 2 days...a little 'goodie' bag.

Leela in Delhi - their staff too, were very gracious and actually one of the duty managers went over and above the call of duty by helping us convert old rupee notes to new rupee notes...this was outstanding and greatly appreciated as we were really stuck...Guide treated us to lunch since we did not have any 'legal' rupee notes. Loved the colorful wedding processions just outside the hotel - would not have seen this if we had stayed close to the airport.

Best of all is that neither Les nor I had any health issues from food - definitely good quality of food at these hotels. Les actually gained weight .. 🙂

I have kept the Company profile that was in the package and will be happy to use it for referrals.

This tour was for Les to enjoy Rajasthan and Taj Mahal for the first time...and he too joins me in congratulating you both for making this a marvelous experience.

We wish you both every success.

With sincere appreciation.

Les and Lila Cochrane

Everyhour of each day was a gift.

Our two weeks together were God- filled! He was with us as 24 (later28) stranger met and became family.

Everyhour of each day was a gift. Wheather we ere eating, washing our own dishes, listening to the various sessions, participating in the one day ashram, in the outdoor chapel at sat tal. God was with us. He was also with us on the bus as we sited the baby fold, the hospital , managers home at the bay school, the various colleges and other methodist sponsered places including so many churches that were imporant to E Stanley Jones.God was also with our newly created lovely and loving family as we visited the Taj Mahal, rode elephant and had rides in rickshaw, as well as visited temples, palaces and the place where gandhi was assasinated. He was even with us as we shopped.

What an incredible time together! I love each of you!
