The best compliment for me is for the guest to say that I will come back again “says Malladi Chandrasekhar.
He has spent 27 years working as a Translator, Tour manager, Heritage interpreter, and Tour guide…
“Spread me the map of India and challenge me”, he says ..point out on a map of India, anything, he has been there and done that.
Almost everything, he has a first-hand experience, whether the Northeast, Andamans or any Nook and cranny of Ladakh, the east coast, west coast. Done tribal tours in Orissa, Chattisgarh, Andhra. Trekking down from Kailash Mansarovar (for 3 days eating only cornflakes), cruising on a ferry to Lakshadweep, a boat tour of the Brahmaputra, national parks, Gastronomic tours, Yoga and Meditation, Buddhist sector. The point of writing this is to convey that he has a 360⁰degree experience.
Neither suffers from motion sickness nor altitude sickness nor falls sick easily… Very important, given that, he is traveling round the year.
Outside India he has been to Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Israel, Hong Kong, China including Tibet, Spain, England, a part of Europe, Egypt. Some of these countries have been visited repeatedly.
This means that he can give his guest a complete experience placing the monument/event/personality in it’s geographical, historical and social context ..
He did his Post graduation in Spanish language and literature (M.A in Spanish) in 1995. Has a keen interest in the study of comparative Indian literature…
Reads ,writes and speaks Hindi, Telugu, English, Spanish. Studied Tamil for seven years in school, can read, write and understand very well. However while talking might get stuck up sometimes. Bangla and Assamese were studied for comparative Indian literature’s sake. Done a course in Hebrew from the Embassy of Israel. On job learnt a bit of Portuguese, however, he makes no such claim. The fluency level varies a bit amongst the languages.
During lockdown, didn’t waste even a single moment (He has a personal library at home)… Brushed up his Assamese and then trained to be a Naturalist, (with a bit of Bush crafting skills ) spending some weeks in the middle of Central India’s Jungles…Learnt to give First Aid..
“Some professions are a passion “…” will work in this as long as I can”
Well, with that you can be assured, whoever travels with him, comes back infected with the same passion…
